I Belong

" Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22

" You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."I Corinthians 6:19-20

A new heritage
A new "haustafeln"

A place to grow

A place to minister

Not just really bad people

Forgiveness

Life..."the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death"

Our Most Necessary Spiritual Gift

But eagerly desire the greater gifts. I Corinthians 12:31
Acts 4:36-37 9:26,27 11:22-26 15:36-41
" If a man’s gift is …encouraging, let him encourage;" Romans 12:6,8

How to minister the gift of encouragement
Point people to the opportunity side of problems
" Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
James 1:2-4

Speak prophetically to one another
" It [the church] was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord." Acts 9:31
" But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort." I Corinthians 14:3
" For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged." I Corinthians 14:31
" But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness" Hebrews 3:13

Tell stories about what God is doing in your life
" Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard ? and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly." Philippians 1:12-14
"… let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:25
