Spiritual Community

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

We instinctively need connection

1. To our Creator

2. To one human

3. To a group of people

We increasingly are isolated

1. By individualism

2. By technology

3. By entertainment

4. By our pace of life

Spiritual community is God’s plan

1. For all believers

2. For each day of the week

3. For our spiritual formation

Are you devoted to the fellowship?

1. The people of God

2. The church of God
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms
Ephesians 3:10

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. Matthew 4:18-20

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"-which is the first commandment with a promise- "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4

… in every way … make the teaching about God our Savior attractive. Titus 2:10
